Raging River

Words don't have meaning in this place
This river made so long ago
Sticks get stuck
It all piles up
Debris builds much faster than stone
But the water still knows
It finds ways to flow
It carries on to the unknown
The rage of the river moves on
And finds a new home
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Or would that be too much of a bore?
There's no chaos to focus on
Reminders to be strong
Monotony can feel like a chore
So when you tell me
To hold onto hope
Always a little bit more
I know it's the rage of the river you want
Not the calm of the shore
Darling, I want the shore
